Neighbors Caring for Neighbors

Each Compassion Kit provides essential items, practical relief, and a reminder that someone in the community cares.

Compassion Kits

Compassion Kits are our flagship initiative and current focus. Each kit is designed to offer warmth, comfort, nourishment, and essential items that meet real needs. Every kit is thoughtfully prepared by volunteers and delivered directly to individuals in need throughout our community.

This project serves two purposes:

1. Immediate Impact: Providing dignity and relief to individuals experiencing hardship

2. Community Engagement: Creating accessible service opportunities for families, youth, schools, and organizations

Our model is intentionally simple and replicable. We want to show other communities that meaningful service doesn’t require large budgets or complex infrastructure. It starts with neighbors caring for neighbors.

What Goes in a Kit:

  • Hygiene essentials (shampoo, deodarant, soap, hand sanitizer, toothbrush / paste)

  • Weather-appropriate clothing items (socks, gloves, hats)

  • Non-perishable snack items (e.g., protein bars)

  • Bottled water

  • First-aid basics (bandaids)

  • Seasonal necessities (hats, gloves, socks)

  • A handwritten note of encouragement

  • Resource information for local supports

Optional Additions:

  • Gift cards to local grocery stores or fast food restaurants ($5-$15 suggested)

  • Feminine hygiene supplies
